We can make good use of any donations of clothing, shoes, bags, curtains, linens, bric-à-brac, toys etc. If you would like to drop off donations by car, please phone the shop (01223 312 802) for directions to the unloading area behind us on Paradise street and to make sure someone is available to open the back door.
Do you have any clothes from the 60s, 70s or 80s (or earlier) that no longer fit? Clothes and accessories that were new then are now very fashionable again, and are a valuable source of funds for our work. We can also sell related items such as packets of nylons, dress-making patterns, sewing sets, cookery books and leaflets that might not immediately occur to you as useful donations to a charity shop.
Please note: all "fur-type" materials sold by our shops are "faux". We do not sell any real fur items, as we believe that even secondhand fur sales are unethical as they may tend to encourage the trade in new fur, which causes suffering and death to animals.
We are looking for motivated people to volunteer in the shop for half a day or more, either weekly or fortnightly. This is an excellent way to learn more about what is actually involved in running a retail operation: including online selling, customer care, displays etc. Although we are a charity shop, this does not mean "amateurish" and like any commercial operation we have to make a profit to stay in business.
If you are interested in helping at the shop, please call in and ask to speak to the manager. We have an application form which you can download and it is helpful if you could complete this and bring it with you.
